There are currently a selection of year 7 mythological creature drawings on display in the reception gallery. These are pencil studies based on surreal animal collages that were made in class. These also turned into clay sculptures realising the creatures in 3d, they are on display in the corner cabinet.
The second artist of the week is in year 7; she made a fantastically surreal mythological creature sculpture. The creature is made out of clay and is decorated in a monochromatic design; it will be on display alongside some other examples downstairs in the reception display cabinet from next week. Well done!
For the last life drawing session, the students could work in what ever medium they wanted. Some examples are shown below, some tried their hand at clay modelling. This final session concludes life drawing at Buxton school for this school year, it was a great success and the students now have a body of supporting work which will boost their final grades.
